Thanks Eddy, I promptly dealt with the sucker. I've been planning to install an anti-spam tools, the kind that would either ask you to enter the contents of a picture or to enter a simple math problem.

This week has been the first at my fulltime job. I have a slew of pet projects as well (like a cat with litter) and the sum of everything have been eroding my time. This is only the beginning for me, but your wise words of warning will surely echo in my head when the time comes!
What do you find is the best number of pet projects (lets say "moderate" in scope, whatever that means) to handle at the same time?

For relaxation, I do sports; Karate and Squash... although I have been skipping lately to work on projects... I can imagine the married life is quite different eh?

You've got a spammer just above...

Very nice post, Olivier. Throughout my career, I have had such times when I felt like I needed more than 24 hours in a day. Before I got married, it was easy to manage: spend time with girlfriend, rush home and work on pet projects until the early hours. Nowadays, the situation is more complex. My wife's chores are also mine, and my time is also hers. So, I have had to re-arrange my priorities and compromise on things, such as playing games, working on pet projects, etc.

Inevitably, there will be a time when you will be burnt out. It happened to me about two years ago. After working on a rather lucrative project, I spent the next two years doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Thankfully, that period is over, and having learnt my lesson, I try to relax more now.
